Connecting 2 computers via Bluetooth Adapters? - Effective or not?

Hi

one of my 2 computers are internet enabled. i need to connect these 2 computers so that i can use internet through the other computer too.

will using 2 Bluetooth adapters solve this problem?. will i be able to connect the 2 computers via bletooth adapters and use the resources of 1 computer through the other one? (printer, internet etc.).

Btw, i need an economical way of connecting these 2 computers except UTP cabling.

thanks.

Connecting 2 computers via Bluetooth Adapters? - Effective or not?nortin

a simple cross cable would be faster(due to bandwidth) , more effective, cheap or a wireless connection using wi-fi since its faster, more in bandwidth and better in range concerning the distance between the 2 pc's.

chris h demonstrates the standard misconceptions about machine capabilities. The whole point of a machine (*any* machine) is to perform tasks that you cannot do yourself, or at least not as efficiently. For computers, that means tasks traditionally associated with human thought, be it simple arithmatic or more abstract problem solving requiring superior intelligence. The point at which you choose to call it "intelligent" is largely arbitrary. If a robot could go grocery shopping for its owner using only a list of general preferences, is that intelligent? Maybe. How about if it could design and build an improved version of itself? Definitely.

Multiple computers with wireless mice?

I'm currently using logitech wireless (RF) mice at a desk with mutiple computers within 5-6 feet of each other. The problem is, moving any one of these mice causes all of the others nearby to be "frozen out" until you stop moving it. Even though the select buttons on the dongle allow us to keep each mouse and computer paired up, no two can be used simultaneously.

Several years ago, Microsoft's first-generation wireless mice had a channel selector switch on the bottom to allow 2 wireless mice to operate without stepping on each other. But that was only two channels, and sometimes a person sitting at a desk 8-9 feet away would wind up moving the mouse of a 3rd computer (on the same channel)

Is there anything available that might work for 4 computers in close proximity to each other? I need any of these computers able to move their mouse without locking out the others...

Unfortunately, wireless mice are not designed for that kind of usage. If you all had different kinds of mice, they might operate on sufficiently different frequencies not to interfere with each other, but again probably not (since the transmitter/receiver modules tend to be generic).

Personally, I would just get myself a nice wired mouse. They are lighter, don't need batteries, and cost a lot less.

Maybe you have a virus on your computer's operating system. If alot of your hardware has the same problem, there is probably a bug in your computer, not the hardware. It could be from an outdated operating system. What do you have? If it's anything older than Windows XP or Mac OS X.3 it's pretty old and you should think about upgrading. It might be a driver problem that comes from outdated OS's.

Cannot connect to the internet using my two computers?

It's been two week now since I could last connect my two computers. My main computer is connected through wired connection, though I have a wireless connected so I can connect to the other computer. Not too long ago I updated my network magic, which I have on both computers. I did the wrong thing and updated to the newest version of network magic. Now both my main computer and the other computer have the same IP address?? I can only connect to my other computer and access the internet, on my main computer the internet doesn't work. But, I cannot connect wirelessly on both computers I can only connect through wired connection on the other computer, on the main computer the internet doesn't work at all, it's not the router, or the wireless I assume I think it's to do with the same IP address, what do I do so both computers can access the internet?

Well, that is the problem with these "magical" programs, they don't always work "Magic".

If it were me, I would go into the control panel, network connections, double click on the wired, or wireless adapter.

A screen will appear that shows a list of "network protocols" find the one that says, TCP/IP (internet) double click it! Check the box that says, "Obtain Address Automatically" and the box that says "Obtain DNS Automatically" . CLick ok and let the computer do its thing. Then restart the computer and see if the IP conflict is gone! If you need help here is a guide.

Since you didn't say what OS, I have to guess XP (as the above)

You may need to restart your router as well.

Good Luck - hope that helps

What field in computers is best for me?

ok I am having trouble figuring out what computer field is best for me? Here's what i'd like to do:

- computer repair (hardware repair, replacement, installation, and software install/useage, ect) similar to that of a technical support specialist/computer repair specialist

- networking

- problem solving/diagnostic work (cleaning out viruses, finding out why something isn't working, ect.)

- security (making sure systems are secure, ect)

Personally I like repairing computers and the problem solving...but i didn't like the sound of a computer repair specialist or comp. technician due to the low salary compared to other computer careers. I wasn't sure if an IT specialist would exactly cover the majority of this.

Plz help me!! What computer career would be good for me!

Doing what you like is important as long as it doesn't get stale and helps you achieve what you need financially. The status thing (title) really is only important on your resume in my opinion.

Problem solving/diagnostic work could be good because new and unqiue situations always arise that requires broader on-going education (read opportunity). Also pretty gratifying. AND usually you get to know more people this way and that can lead to better networking (interpersonal) which is usually politically GOOD and can open doors for you. The idea about becoming an architect is really the most profitable though.

Connecting 2 computers through ADSL Router?

i have a d-Link ADSL 2+ router (GLB 502T) it comes with an ethernet port and a USB port.

in theory, it is possible to connect one computer through the ethernet port and the other through usb. But for some reason, my USB port gives a very very fickle connection.

I want to know if i can connect both my computers through ethernet with minimal expenditure. I thought of the foll. two methods... but dunno the technicalities involved... any help wud be greatly appreciated...

1) Router --%26gt;USB A/F to B/F adaptor ---%26gt; USB to Ethernet Adaptor ---%26gt; Ethernet Cable --%26gt; COMPUTER 1

Router ---%26gt; Ethernet Cable ---%26gt; COMPUTER 2

2) Router --%26gt; SPLITTING DEVICE X

SPLITTING DEVICE X ---%26gt; Ethernet cable --%26gt; COMPUTER 1

SPLITTING DEVICE X ---%26gt; Ethernet cable --%26gt; COMPUTER 2

ideally, SPLITTING DEVICE X should b a switch /hub or something... but i am looking at a very very basic splitter... which is not that expensive.

any ideas?
