Dell Computers sell their products on-line, prices are up to 40% cheaper in the US than the UK. They do not have exactly the same specs. (probably to try and justify this price differential) but why should we in Europe pay so much more for what is essentially the same product. When you buy a Dell computer on-line in the States you must digitally sign an on-line form stating you will not export the computer out of the country. Seems to me this is price fixing.

There are many variables that could be the source of this price differential. Internet sales may be subject to taxation, shipping costs, and protective tariffs by the UK could all drive the cost of the PCs up. The reason I believe there is probably a good reason is that if a cheaper PC could be made by a competitor, HP, Walmart, or another generic manufacturer would just sell the same unit as Dell for less cost. Eventually, Dell would sell nothing in the UK until they lowered their prices, so something has to be driving the prices up. It is just so incredibly easy to assemble a cheap computer that someone would be doing it if their prices were really very much higher.

It is and i have heard their products are not very good and their after sales service is awful so my advice to anyone is keep away from them.
Keep away from Dell. Their products are horrible and when you have a problem with their product they take forever to get it fixed. It's better that you don't get a Dell so you won't have to deal with the hassle of it breaking.
Anyone can charge anything. Fair has nothing to do with it. Whatever the market will bear is the price any company can charge for anything.
