Computers on a network not seeing each other? (Netgear router)?

I am trying to file share on my home network. I have four PCs, each of which are connected to a netgear router. All of these computers can connect to the internet.

I have set up each of the computers in a workgroup, called PBMCFILESHARE. Yet, for some reason, none of these computers can actually see each other.

YET, all the computers can ping to each other and get a response.

Am I missing something here?

have you turned on sharing

Is there a personal fire wall turned on, on each computer. Is the file sharing turned on on each of the computers. Try manually sharing a file on one of the computers and see if the rest can see it.
How you enabled network sharing on the folders that you want to share? Right click "Properties", "Sharing" tab. Networking does not give a free for all between computers, folders and resources have to be enabled for sharing.

After that, if there are still problems try removing the firewall. If that worries you, disconnect from the Internet first, but if all the computers in the network can be trusted there will almost certainly be a configurable firewall in the netgear router.
you need to install netbeui

they wont see each other on tcpip thats used for the internet
hi firstly if ur using home edition run the network wizard on all pc's to enable file sharing then re-boot.

if ur using professional each machine must be set up with a password for each user to login to the set shared folder by the administrator

good luck
