Unknown computers connected to your network?

I'm using Trend Micro PC-cillin and I keep getting alerts saying 'Unknown computers have connected to your network' There are a bunch of IP addresses listed like 10!!!!! I clicked do not trust and block but I still keep getting alerts? and theyre still connected.

I use cox cable, just one computer. just me. no one else. Cable connects to box%26gt;%26gt; that connects to my computer. I dont have a password/username for anything. Just turn on computer and Im online.

I thought in order for someone to use your internet connection you had to have wireless internet? How dangerous is it to have other computers connected to your network? What information can they get from you? How do I block them? Please help Im very new to this.

And to add to Jeffreys' suggestion, a subscription, i.e. Norton Sys. Works 2007, will ensure you do not become infected and has a software firewall. Or you can get free ones from the web.

Trend is not a "smart" program. There is a config setting for Wireless Networks that is probably enabled in Trend's configuration. Try this:

Open the Trend Main Console. Click on the Network Security button. Find Wi-Fi Intrusion Detection, and uncheck the "Automatically detect computers... bla, bla, bla".

Try that.
Cable internet puts everyone on the same connection, that's why it slows down when lots of people are using your section. You need to have password protection on your network and a firewall, just like a wireless.
hey ... go to start %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;run%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;cmd%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; netstat -a

then u can know who are all connected to ur computer ...

Its jus harmless message ....you can ignore that

These are just websites, most of them won't harm you. And there's probably too many to block by now.
