Has computers alienated people from society, who's fault is it?

I have to do an essay of this topic and I disagree

I think that people take advantages of computer

I don't think computers alienate society from eachother

I think people have control of their lives and they allow computer to take over

I believe that it is society's fault

Yes, it is the people who have alienated themselves from society for the sake of the computer. The age of computers is still pretty much in its infancy. There may be more to be done in forming new types of societies that stretch around the globe with the help of computers, but it won't be the kind of social contact where people go fishing or camping or hiking together and experience live social contact. There will be instances of people forming good friends who may never ever meet in person. It may even get to the extreme where some two people who are friends only live a block apart from each other and never know it, as if they lived thousands of miles apart.

I have heard it argued that the rise of computers and the increasingly networked world has created a digital community at the expense of local communities. Rather than stand outside and talk with the neighbor over the fence, people would rather talk online to people with similar interests and hobbies.
