we just set up our modem ; now we are both connected to the net through the same modem.what we cant do is opening directories in our computers share with each other over the connection.i did open the directory i wanted with a right click and said " share this with the other computers" thing and now there is a hand under the picture of it , but my friend still cant see it, same as vice versa.
can anyone help me about connecting the computers , detailed? cos we tried so many things and i'm sure its something simple.

At the address bar, type \\ followed by your friend's computer name. You should be able to see your friend's shared folder listed there.
