Are Dell computers ready to use out of the box?

Can you get a dell computer out of its box and plug it in and away you go.

I was told by a computer specialist that you have to install the operating system, Vista for instance on Dell computers, is this true

Have you had this problem

Is it a hassle?

Thanks for any answers.

No, Dells have an operating system installed unless you specifically tell them not to.

Installing Windows is not hard at all if you ever decide to do it yourself. You just stick in the disk, reboot and start the installation, format the drive if its not formatted already, and choose where you want to install windows. After its installed you might have to install drivers for your sound and video cards, but in Windows Vista some of the drivers may have been included, all of mine were.

The only thing that might be a little confusing is that if when you boot the computer up and there isnt an option to install from the cd, you would have to restart and go into the bios settings, the computer should show what they are on the boot screen, and then you would have to find and change the boot order to boot from the CD first.

Thats a s complicated as it gets, nothing to worry about at all.

Ive been doing this for over 10 years, did it like 4 times last week alone.

have just bought del inspiron 520

just plug in and your off (by the way lovelly machine comes with vista installed) All dell come with os installed
you dont really need to install an operating system you just need to make an admin account and then you can use it. this only takes 5 minutes of your time.
