Connecting 2 computers?

Hi I have 2 computers, one is running ok but the other one has a lot of spyware, in the one that works ok I have a great spyware scanner (which was expensive) and what I want to do is to find out how to connect the 2 computers so that I could access the hard drive of the one I want to fix with the computer that works so I can run diagnostics from it.

OK

Unless you have the two networked - I cannot see how you can do it. If you network the two, then you would have to see if the spyware scanner could "read" the hard drive of the "'bad" computer.

Also, check with the software maker of the product. Sometimes, they may have a way in which you could do what you want. Additionally, several of the spyware/virus protection manufacturers will give you one free scan in hopes that you will buy their product. They are ok if you use the scan and still don't buy the product. You are limited, however, to only do the free scan one within a certain period.

Hope that helps.

You won't be able to do it over the network.

You have to either install it on the other pc or take out the hard drive and slave it to your pc.
If both pc's have network cards in, buy a cross over ethernet cable, it will allow you make a small network between the two pc's. If you run XP on both of them, you should have no problem.
Having them networked together will not work so dont waste your time. The lisecence will not let you run it over the network. I would personally just open up the tower of the bad pc, and connect it as a slave to the good pc, this way you will be able to scan it from there. Then when you are finished just but the hard drive back in the pc.
