I dont know why your IP addresses would be in different ranges if they are connected to the same router....

Your routers IP address is 192.168.2.1 so it should have a built in DHCP server that assignes the computers an automatic IP address in the sam range, something between 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.254.

Also your computers should both have file and printer sharing enabled, Make the workgroup name on the computers the same and then place the IP addresses of the computers in each of the computers firewall trusted zone.

The router is a router, not a network hub. But make your PC IP addresses very different, say 192.168.2.10 and 192.168.2.11. Make the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and set each PCs gateway as 192.168.2.1. I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try.
