Why dont moniters work with my computers?

I power on the computer (each one at different times) with 5 or so moniters (and 5 or so computers) the computers power on, laser on mouse goes on, lights on keyboard go on, and moniter light goes green ( or blue depending on the moniter) and then after a second or two goes orange (meaning it is off). If it were a freak occurance, i would not care, just use a different computer, but theis is with 5 or so computers. I've heard it could be power supply, ram, fried mother borad, and numerous other things. Does anyone know for sure what is is?

That is rather odd if all 5 monitors are not working. Did you happen to get 5 old computers? They could be damaged surplus machines.

You could have several problems going on, many that you referenced. You could have a bad power supply, a damaged motherboard, a bad cable, a bad video card, etc. Maybe these units were all damaged by a lightening storm or some type of electrical spike?

First, I would take one of the monitors and put it on a computer you know absolutely works. You can try booting up in Windows Safe mode by pressing F8 before Windows loads. This would load your default VGA driver and other basic drivers. If you see that your monitor then works, it could be a driver problem or video card issue.

It's hard to say what exactly is wrong as it can be a number of things.

Good Luck!

why 5 PC's? I don't know. However, if the monitor shuts off after boot, it has to be with the video signal. Meaning the video card or cables. (I have seen bent/missing pins) Reseat the video card/try different pci slot.
try system restore
Maybe the source of your electricity is unstable or fluctuating. Have it checked by an electrician.
