Do computers heat up?

We leave our two computers on all day, from 12pm to 1am. There hasn't been any problems until yesterday when one of the computers stopped responding. The same thing happend again tonight. I was finished editing something and clicked update and it froze. I shut it down the wrong way and did the same thing again and it froze again. I'm so mad. My younger sister goes on the computer like all day and then my Mom gets to go on for an hour and then goes to bed and then its my turn and all the problems seem to happend to me. I don't know if this happens to my sis, she never says anything. I felt the top of the moniter and it was hot. Does leaving the computer on all day wreck it in anyway?

Yes computer do need some rest.

All the processes takes place in CPU where all the drives and devices are installed useing them for long time without stopping decreses their efficincey and offten cause them to misbehave like in the manner your are facing..

For your immidiate solution i would suggest you a registry optimzing software like registry mechanic which will help in improving your computer's performance by removing its bottlenecks.

Computers do heat up the monitors are vented enough so the heat does not bother them at all. The actual computer has a fan in it and it runs to keep the computer cool enough. Now sometimes the fans need to be cleared of dust build up. I am not saying that is your problem you may have another issue has to why your computer is hanging up.
yes they do heat up but your computer fans may need replacing or cleaning dont leave them on all day or knight turn them off to cool down
I think your power supply got some ptoblem.Try ti change your power supply into a new one.Make sure you buy cooler master brand. Its very stable and can prevent your computer for getting heated up.
Of course they heat up. In fact new systems just about need to be sealed up and thrown in river to be cooled. Some systems get so hot they need water cooling systems installed and still four extra fans. Your best bet is to Let it cool at time intervals or do the easier thing and buy a bigger fan. If you don't have the $$ to do this try cleaning the fan blades with a Q-tip or something, but be sure not to touch anything else and wait for the system to cool in less you wish to feel how hot a processor can get.(3rd degree burns) If you fail to keep your system cool you can plan on buying a new system soon.
