How can I connect/network both computers(OS-Windows XP) and share both computer's resources at a time.

Best you can do without a router or switch between is an adhoc network. Windows has a network wizard built in.



You can find this from start menu and then choose my network places on the next window look on the left for the link to setup a network.



choose the adhock settings give your network a name and make sure both computers are set with same workgroup name. you will only be able to share files etc. not the system resource. This is the norm for all network setups.

The easiest way is connecting both computers using crossover cable:
