Wireless router won't allow multiple computers to connect at one time?

I have been having this problem for quite some time, my dad and I both have laptops along with a desktop (wired) computer. Whenever someone is using the wired computer and a laptop, the wireless connection and internet works fine for both computers - however when we attempt (all 3 computers) to access the internet at one time, one of the computers can't access it. (Either my dad and I, using the 2 laptops can use it, or a laptop and the wired computer) I am using a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (2.4 ghz) connected to a Linksys Cable Modem, with Roadrunner High Speed Cable Internet. The network is secured using a network key for access (which is the same on both laptops - I don't know if this has to do with anything).

Sounds like the router might be set to assign only two IP addresses at a time. Go into the router's administration pages via the cabled machine and see. If so, you might consider bumping it to three, but that would provide more of a window for freeloaders to get in through.

An alternative would be to assign fixed IP addresses to the three machines and set the router to accept only those (rather than have it automatically assign IP addresses via DHCP). Fixed IP addresses are a little harder to crack into.

To get into the router, enter IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address window of your browser. If this doesn't work, you can find out the router's IP address this way:

1.Click on the Start button.

2.Click Run...

3.In the text box, type in cmd .

4.A black "DOS box" window will pop up. Type into it ipconfig /all .

5.A bunch of seeming gibberish will fill the screen. On the line next to "Default Gateway" your router's IP address should appear. If it isn't 192.168.1.1, try using it instead.

Suggest you could try unsecuring the network if that is not an issue, we have had 3 accessing internet at same time on an unsecured network.
